Life has been a whirlwind these past few months. You, who were once my tiny baby, suddenly seem like a big boy since your little brother arrived. But every night, when you curl up in bed and reach for my hand, I’m reminded that you’re still so little and that I’m still your whole world, even though you now share it with someone new.

You adore your brother and yet I know this transition hasn’t been easy. Some struggles you’ve voiced, others you’ve tried to understand or silently endured. 

You’ve seen me grow not just as a mother, but as a person.
You’ve witnessed my weakest and strongest moments. 
You’ve endured my emotional ups and downs, my outbursts and yet you always come back to comfort me when the storm passes.

You offer and accept apologies with such grace. When I’m overwhelmed raising two children, you wait for me patiently. And when I lose my temper, you’re affected, but you still remind me of your desire to do better. 

Sometimes, I don’t know what breaks my heart more; the fact that you’ve seen me in all my imperfect forms and still love me or the fear that I may unintentionally pass on to you wounds I haven’t healed yet or maybe it’s that you sometimes have to grow up faster than you should, simply because you’re the eldest.

As a firstborn myself, I know it’s often the eldest who sees the rawest sides of their parents and still stands by them. Thank you my love, for being that for me. 

I see you my love, in your joy, in your frustration, in your resilience and in your quiet strength. I don’t always get it right, but please know I’m always trying. You teach me just as much as I try to teach you.

And no matter how big you grow, you’ll always be my baby, who showed me the dept of love. As you journey through life, I hope my love stays with you as a warm light you can always return to, especially when the world feels overwhelming.

I’m so proud of you. I’m so lucky to be your mother ❤️

It’s not the baby. It’s just being inside con It’s not the baby.

It’s just being inside concrete four walls.
The monotony.
The isolation and the silence between adult conversations.
The endless routines that feel like they’re on repeat.

Your nervous system is overwhelmed and is craving sunlight, movement, connection and a moment where you’re not constantly needed.

It’s not your baby that’s the problem, but it’s being stuck inside for hours every day.

Sometimes, the smallest things can help:
~ Take a short walk.
~ Have a real conversation with a friend.
~ Step out for chai/coffee
~ Sit down in the Sun for a while with no one touching you.
~ Even a deep breath outside with fresh air caressing your cheeks.

Save this for the hard days.
And if you know a mum who needs this reminder, share it with her.

It’s okay to need time for YOU.

Taking care of yourself is also part of taking care of your baby♥️
